Colin Kaepernick praises Jim Harbaugh: 'He taught me a lot'

Jim Harbaugh saw the potential in Colin Kaepernick.

After all, it was Harbaugh who essentially handed Kaepernick the reigns to the team after Week 10 of the 2012 season.

From then on, the marriage was a match made in heaven, at least in the short term.

Kaepernick guided the 49ers to the Super Bowl in 2012, then to a third straight NFC Championship game in 2013 before a dismal 8-8 season last year that led to Harbaugh and the team "mutually parting ways."

Still, the signal caller had nothing but high praise for his former coach.

“He taught me a lot,” Kaepernick said, via ESPN. “A lot about professional offenses, a lot about the defenses, how they can react, how they can change, based on what you’re doing and what their game plan might be."

There's no question Kaepernick enjoyed the best success under Harbaugh, up until the 2014 season.

Whether he can rebound from his worst season as a pro playing for a rookie head coach is something to watch as 2015 unfolds.
