Chris Johnson ready to carry heavy workload if Andre Ellington sits

Chris Johnson's mindset is and always will be the same.

Whether Andre Ellington is healthy for Week 2 or not, Johnson is ready.

"I'm always preparing myself like I'm getting 20, 25 touches a game," Johnson said, via ESPN

After Ellington went down with a knee injury in Week 1, Johnson assumed much of the work in the backfield, carrying seven times for 30 yards.

It was revealed on Monday that Ellington suffered a sprained knee, and head coach Bruce Arians is unsure if he'll be ready for Sunday's matchup against the Bears.

If not, Johnson will assume starting duties.

And he could have the chance to show he is still capable of carrying the workload as a No. 1 back.
