Chiefs sign linebacker Massaquoi to provide depth

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) The Chiefs have signed outside linebacker Jonathan Massaquoi, adding depth at the position one day after agreeing to a three-year deal to keep veteran pass rusher Tamba Hali in Kansas City.
Massaquoi's agency announced the deal on Wednesday, the opening day of free agency.
The 27-year-old Massaquoi is a former fifth-round pick of the Falcons, who spent his first three seasons in Atlanta. He joined the Tennessee Titans last year, but was cut prior to the season.
Massaquoi will compete for playing time behind the Chiefs' top pass-rushing duo of Hali and Justin Houston, with former first-round pick Dee Ford factoring into the mix.
Frank Zombo and Dezman Moses, the backup linebackers last season, are free agents.
