Kansas City seems like it could use all the safety help it can get.

But things aren't always as they seem. General manager John Dorsey never put a claim in on former second-round pick safety D.J. Swearinger, per reports.

The former Houston Texans hard-hitter ended up joining the Buccaneers, so K.C. would've been outbid anyway.

But it's still a big vote of confidence in the group Kansas City has now -- highlighted by Ron Parker, Husain Abdullah, and new addition Tyvon Branch -- that Dorsey didn't even try to upgrade at that spot.
