Kansas Citians love their barbecue enough to build their beloved football team's home schedule around it.

Chiefs president Mark Donovan said the team asked the NFL for a road game the weekend of the American Royal barbecue in October, according to the Kansas City Star.

Donovan also requested the weekend of a fall NASCAR race and the weekend of a Missouri-BYU college football game at Arrowhead. All three events occur in October during K.C.'s three-game road trip, beginning with the team's "home" game in London against the Lions.
