Chiefs' Andy Reid: "We all need to pick it up"

BY foxsports • October 14, 2015

Andy Reid can't say enough good things about how his Chiefs prepare.

It hasn't translated to wins. Reid coaches a losing team that looks faster at the practice facility than it does across the parking lot at Arrowhead Stadium.

"We all need to pick it up," Reid told reporters. "You have to raise the level and you have to do it right now, right now. That's how it works when you're 1-4, that's how it works."

Reid said his team's sense of urgency "could be better." That's an understatement; slow offensive production and stale play doomed the team in each of its four losses.

Now Reid faces the seemingly insurmountable task of reenergizing his team without its most energizing player, Jamaal Charles.

"There's a time that your, obviously, your character is going to be tested, right?" Reid said. "So, there are not a lot of people that are patting you on the back and saying how good you're doing. You got to reach a little deeper and pull together, and good things can happen when guys do that."
