Chargers expect Rivers, other starters to suit up vs. Seahawks

It's dress rehearsal time for Philip Rivers and the Chargers offense.

That means the quarterback won't sit out like he did against the Cardinals. According to ESPN's Eric D. Williams, Rivers is expected to be a full-go in this third preseason week.

No. 17 won't be the only Bolt returning to live game action.

Per Williams, rookie running back Melvin Gordon and cornerback Jason Verrett will both suit up against the Seahawks. Both missed the Cardinals game.

Rivers has the most to gain from a game against the NFC champs, though. He's still working on his timing with new receivers like Stevie Williams. He's also trying to get on the same page with tight ends like Ladarius Green.

He'll get a chance to do all that and more against perhaps the NFL's best defense.
