Cardinals' Peterson tweets image of quiet football life he leads

Winning may not be  getting boring for Patrick Peterson, but the star cornerback of the Arizona Cardinals wouldn't mind seeing a few more balls thrown in his direction.

Following another day of relative inactivity in the Cardinals' 38-8 rout of the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, Peterson posted on Twitter a humorous caricature of what his job feels like along with the hashtag "JustDoingMyJob."

Peterson drew the assignment of Packers leading receiver Randall Cobb, who finished with three catches for a season-low 15 yards. Even with that meager total, Peterson said he was not victimized on any of Cobb's receptions.

“I got two (targets),” Peterson said after Sunday's game. “I got the incomplete and the over that 84 (rookie Jared Abbrederis) dropped. I was on him but he dropped the ball. I hope they don’t count those tight end catches because that’s not my man, but last week Pro Football Focus got me for that one. That is not my guy.”

Peterson's entire body of work was viewed much more favorably by Pro Football Focus. Among cornerbacks who have played at least 75 percent of their team's defensive snaps, Peterson ranked first in fewest yards allowed (335) and tied for No. 1 in fewest receptions (29) surrendered. He also was among the top four in lowest catch percentage allowed, fewest times targeted and lowest passer rating against.
