Cardinals' Palmer wipes out 50-year-old team record with 14th TD pass

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer set a franchise record with a first-quarter touchdown pass in Sunday's game at the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Palmer connected with wide receiver Michael Floyd on a 3-yard pass in the end zone to stake Arizona to a 7-0 lead and give him 14 scoring passes on the season - the most ever by a Cardinals quarterback through the first six games of a season.

The 35-year-old Palmer eclipsed the club record of 13 established by Charley Johnson in 1965. Kurt Warner was next on the list with 12 TDs through the first six games.

Entering Sunday's play, Palmer was tied with Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers for the league lead in touchdown passes.
