Cardinals cut Michael Floyd after DUI arrest, charge

The Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Michael Floyd has been cut after he was arrested on a DUI charge on Monday morning, the team announced.

Floyd was slated to be a free agent after the season. He has 33 receptions on the season for 446 yards and four touchdowns.

Floyd appeared to be unconscious behind the wheel of his car when police found his car running in the early hours of Monday morning. He refused to submit a blood-alcohol breath test or blood draw and so officers obtained a warrant for his blood. The wide receiver was held on suspicion of two counts of DUI, one count of obstructing a roadway and one count of failure to obey a police officer.

Floyd was selected with the Cardinals' first-round pick in 2012. He was suspended from Notre Dame's football team in March 2011 as he drove twice the speed of the legal limit.

The Cardinals are 5–7–1 on the season after their 26–23 loss to the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.
