Cameron Jordan on impressive season: 'It's not enough for the team'

The New Orleans Saints signed Cameron Jordan to a five-year contract extension this past offseason, and the defensive end repaid them with a strong season.

Unfortunately, Jordan's season obviously wasn't enough to push the Saints back into the postseason, but at the very least, the team should feel pretty good about their investment. Jordan finished up the season with 45 combined tackles, 10 sacks, five passes defensed and one forced fumble.

Even after the strong season, he wasn't satisfied, due to the fact that his success didn't equal success for his team as a whole.

“Hopefully, it would have translated into a playoff run this year, but that’s not the case,” Jordan said. “This year, that’s a great personal note for me, but it’s not enough for the team. There’s got to be more.”

Jordan did touch on the fact that the Saints have quite a few young playmakers, mentioning that he's excited to see the growth of this defensive unit.

“We’ve got a lot of young guys who are growing up,” Jordan said. “With everything that’s gone on this season, we have so much room for improvement that I’m looking forward to the growth of everybody who’s on our defense.”

Jordan's going to be the face of this defense for years to come, but it'll be interesting to see how they can get things turned around in 2016 after a tough statistical year defensively.
