Byron Maxwell not sorry he left the Seahawks for more money

Byron Maxwell won a Super Bowl in Seattle and became a member of the Legion of Boom, then left the Seahawks for the Eagles, who traded the cornerback to the Dolphins after just one year.

Despite the disappointment of the failed Chip Kelly experiment, Maxwell says he's not sorry he left Seattle, and though he acknowledges the Seahawks came close to matching Philly's $63 million contract offer, at the end of the day the money talked and Maxwell walked.

"Cash flow, all day," Maxwell told ESPN this week. "They were close. But I can't make that back in my lifetime. So I had to go."

Maxwell allowed only two touchdowns last season, both to Julio Jones in the season opener, but the Eagles dealt him on draft day in a package for the Dolphins' first-round pick. Now plugged into a new defense, Maxwell looks forward to facing the Seahawks for the first time Sunday.

"This is big for me, just because of the relationships I have on the other side of the field," Maxwell said. "I want to win even more so than any other game. It's going to be fun, though."
