Bucs, offensive coordinator Tedford part ways

TAMPA, Fla. -- Health issues have forced offensive coordinator Jeff Tedford and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to part ways.

The team released him of his contract Friday. Tedford did not work since the third preseason game, then dealt with an undisclosed illness. In his place, quarterbacks coach Marcus Arroyo called plays for the Bucs (2-10).

Tedford said he is ''now healthy and stronger for having gone through this temporary setback,'' and that he will pursue other opportunities.

Tedford was the head coach at California from 2002-2012. This was his first year with the Buccaneers.
