The Carolina Panthers will host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday Night Football in Week 5. Here are the highlights, a game recap, and the final score.

The last game on the Week 5 slate in the NFL will be between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Carolina Panthers. These NFC South rivals will meet on the gridiron in Charlotte for Monday Night Football.

Both teams are 1-3 on the year and in desperate need of a Week 5 win. Injuries have been a huge contributor to both teams’ slow starts. Carolina can’t run the football without starting running back Jonathan Stewart. Panthers quarterback Cam Newton is in concussion protocol, which likely means that his backup Derek Anderson will get the start on Monday night.

Tampa Bay hasn’t had star running back Doug Martin for the last few weeks. Like Carolina, the Buccaneers’ running game has suffered in its starter’s absence. The Buccaneers have been dealing with injuries on the defensive line. Defensive depth is becoming a bit of a concern for first-year head coach Dirk Koetter.

The Buccaneers will have their bye in Week 6. Tampa Bay’s next game will be on the road in Week 7 versus the San Francisco 49ers. Kickoff from Santa Clara on Sunday, October 23rd will be at 4:05 PM ET.

The Panthers will have six days to prepare for their Week 6 game. Carolina will play another NFC South rival in the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, October 16th at 1:00 PM ET.
