Browns' Taylor to start in season debut

Published Nov. 4, 2012 12:09 p.m. ET

Browns defensive tackle Phil Taylor will start in his season debut against Baltimore after missing eight games.

The massive Taylor underwent offseason surgery after tearing a chest muscle while lifting weights in May. Taylor will start because Ahtyba Rubin will miss his second straight game with a calf injury. Taylor is expected to be limited as the Browns try to win their third straight home game.

Also, Browns rookie wide receiver Josh Gordon will start despite the return of Mohamed Massaquoi. He missed five games with a hamstring injury.

Ravens defensive tackle Haloti Ngata is active after missing practice with a shoulder injury. The Ravens are already without starting linebacker Ray Lewis and cornerback Lardarius Webb, who sustained season-ending injuries.
