The Cleveland Browns placed wide receiver Josh Gordon on reserve/suspended by club, general manager Ray Farmer announced on Saturday in a team-released statement.
Gordon was suspended by the club after missing Saturday's walkthrough, FOX Sports 1's NFL insider Mike Garafolo reports. Gordon started all five games he appeared this year and totaled 24 receptions for 303 yards.
Wide receiver Phil Bates has been elevated from the practice squad to the active roster.

Bates, a 6-foot-2, 220-pound wide receiver, was originally signed by Seattle as an undrafted free agent in 2012. Bates made his NFL debut as a reserve with the Seahawks this season and appeared in one game before spending the past eight weeks on the Browns' practice squad.
