Broncos sign DeMarcus Ware to three-year deal

The Broncos have retooled their defense to be one of the most competitive in the league.

A day after signing safety T.J. Ward and cornerback Aqib Talib to a long-term deals, the Broncos inked defensive end DeMarcus Ware to a three-year, $30 million deal with $20 million guaranteed in the first two years, according to FOX Sports 1's Mike Garafolo.

Ware, who was released by the Cowboys on Tuesday, was set to earn $12.25 million in 2014. The Cowboys’ all-time sack leader is likely to be lined up on the other side of outside linebacker Von Miller, who is rehabbing from a torn ACL.

Despite his age, injury history and dip in production, Ware was too valuable to pass up.

As the window narrows for quarterback Peyton Manning to win a Super Bowl, the Broncos’ brass is doing everything it can to make another run.
