Having a buddy helps when the training room becomes a second home.

Just ask Danny Trevathan and Brandon Marshall, who've become equally inseparable in their rehabilitation as they were as a linebacking duo.

“Me and Danny try to do the same thing,” Marshall told the team's official website. “Obviously you need to be in there, but mental reps can help you a lot.”

Marshall is returning from foot surgery. Trevathan had his kneecap totally replaced. So mental reps are the only kind of reps either has received under new defensive coordinator Wade Phillips.

Phillips might get one or both 'backers back in a few weeks. The Trevathan-Marshall tandem has been laser focused on health in order to keep the start of training camp an option.

“I have no days off,” said Trevathan. “Ever since I had my surgery, I came here. I told them I just want to work. Even if I’m not doing movement I want to be icing or doing something to get this knee better.”

Marshall feels the same way. And once both are up to par, he can't wait to take the field with his partner in recovery.

“(We’re) two capable players and we’re two of the best linebackers in the league," Marshall said. "It’s time for people to start noticing that."
