With the collective bargaining agreement's rookie wage scale, first-round picks don't hold out for contracts like they used to.
But it still pays to be one of the top players taken -- just ask Shane Ray.
The Broncos' top pick received $4.891 million in guaranteed money as the 23rd overall pick of 2015. That's 66 percent of the team's signing bonus allotment for rookies, according to 9News Denver.

His $9.116 million contract represented about 30 percent of what the Broncos will pay their whole nine-player rookie class, too.
It's a step-down from pre-CBA numbers, but the Missouri product will still make about $5 million more than the Broncos' second-round pick, Ty Sambrailo.
