Backup tight end Palmer finding role with Steelers

PITTSBURGH (AP) Pittsburgh Steelers backup tight end Michael Palmer is making the most of his limited opportunities.
Palmer caught his first touchdown pass of the season in last week's 17-9 win over Jacksonville, the only time Pittsburgh's offense found the end zone all day.
It was Palmer's fourth career score and first with the Steelers. He spent the first three seasons of his career in Atlanta, where he learned under future Hall of Famer Tony Gonzalez.
Palmer says he's growing more comfortable in Pittsburgh, where he plays behind Heath Miller and Matt Spaeth. Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has developed a rapport with Palmer. Both passes Palmer's way this season have been in the end zone.
The Steelers (3-2) play in Cleveland (2-2) on Sunday.
