Arizona Cardinals Top 3 fantasy starters for Week 2

Which Arizona Cardinals should you start in their week 2 match up against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers?

The Cardinals play their second straight home game as they host the Buccaneers. The Tampa Bay defense isn’t all that impressive which bodes for a promising fantasy match up. Let’s take a look at the top 3 Cardinals that you need to have in your lineup for this week.

David Johnson, Running back

Last week: 89 rushing yards, 1 rushing touchdown, 4 catches, 43 receiving yards.

Get used to David Johnson as he will be making many appearances on these lists. A home game against a young team with a first year head coach is reason enough to start the second year back.

Last week, the Bucs allowed running back Tevin Coleman to catch 5 passes for 95 yards. That’s 14.5 points in PPR leagues for those of you counting. For this reason, it makes sense to start Johnson again this week especially with him being a multi-purpose back.

While back up Chris Johnson will receiver more playing time this week, Johnson will still receive most of the touches. In addition, a pass catching back is a hot commodity in PPR leagues, and Johnson might be the best one out there.

Predicted stats: 100+ rushing yards, 6 catches, 50 receiving yards, 1+ rushing touchdowns.

Carson Palmer, Quarterback

Last week: 24-37, 271 passing yards, 2 touchdown passes.

While the offense seemed sluggish last week, that still shouldn’t stop you from starting Palmer for the second straight week. Coupled with a week Tampa secondary and a plethora of offensive weapons, Palmer has the perfect recipe for a strong fantasy day.

Once again from the comfort of home, Palmer should be able to maneuver the offense down the field against a defense that allowed Matt Ryan to throw for 334 yards and 2 touchdowns just last week.

Predicted stats: 300+ passing yards, 2+ passing touchdowns.

Larry Fitzgerald, Wide receiver

Last week: 8 catches, 81 receiving yards, 2 touchdown catches.

The Legend makes his first appearance on the list. With John Brown still easing back from a concussion and Michael Floyd’s inconsistency, Fitzgerald will look to light it up against a tremulous Tampa secondary.

While he missed a majority of the week with a knee injury, Fitzgerald practiced fully on Friday and was not listed on the final injury report. Palmer will look to Fitzgerald in short yardage situations, and as well as in the red zone.

Projected stats: 7+ catches, 75+receiving yards, 1+ touchdowns.
