Adrian Peterson: 'You can't believe everything you read or hear'

Adrian Peterson took to Twitter early on Saturday to clarify where he stands in free agency and explain what he will prioritize when deciding where to sign and take the next step in his pro football journey.

Peterson was upset with an ESPN report that said he was set on earning $8 million per season and that it was one of the main reasons he has not signed with another team.

The 32-year-old rushed for just 72 yards on 37 carries last season and was sidelined for much of the season after surgery to repair a torn meniscus. Earlier this month, the Vikings declined his $18 million option for the 2017 season, making him a free agent.
