The San Francisco 49ers placed linebacker Travis LaBoy and kicker Joe Nedney on injured reserve Saturday, ending their season.

Nedney had not been expected to return this year after sustaining a right knee strain and a bone bruise on his plant leg Nov. 14 against St. Louis. He has missed the last five games, with Jeff Reed taking his spot.

LaBoy injured a knee in a 34-7 loss at San Diego on Thursday night. He has played in all 14 games this season and is second on the team with five sacks.

San Francisco (5-9) promoted tight end Colin Cloherty and defensive tackle Will Tukuafu from the practice squad to the active roster.
