Twelve games last week were decided by eight or fewer points, tying a league record that has been matched seven times, most recently in 2006.
The NFL said Tuesday that in 11 of the 16 games, the score was tied or the team trailing had a chance to tie or take the lead with two minutes to play.
Eleven games were decided by seven or fewer points, tying the mark for third most in NFL history, trailing Week 15 of 1993 and Week 12 in 2003. The eight games decided by three or fewer points was the most in one week since Week 6 in 2006.
