Which small forwards will San Antonio target in free agency?
Given which of their players are headed for free agency this summer, the Spurs should very well be in the market for a new backup small forward. Here's a look at a few choices, courtesy of SB Nation's Spurs blog Pounding the Rock. Mike Dunleavy's name could very well be the best option:
"Dunleavy has been a starter for the majority of his career, but he is going to turn 35 before the next season starts and might be willing to accept a reserve role for the right team and the right situation, especially since he's still looking for that elusive championship ring. He started the last two seasons in Chicago and shot 40.7 percent from downtown, and his percentages have been in that neighborhood the past five years."
This is the perfect Spur. Someone who knows his role, can shoot, move without the ball, pass and dribble. Dunleavy plays with intelligence and knows where to be on defense (he wouldn't see the floor under Tom Thibodeau in Chicago if he didn't). It seems like a great fit. Will San Antonio give him an offer?
