MINNEAPOLIS -- Minnesota Timberwolves forward Thaddeus Young will miss at least the next two games because of his mother's death.

The Timberwolves said Friday that Lulu Hall died on Thursday. Young will miss the game Friday night in New Orleans and Saturday night against Dallas. It is not immediately clear when he will return.

In his first year with the Wolves, Young is averaging 14.3 points and 5.0 rebounds and has quickly emerged as a veteran leader on a young and rebuilding team.

The Wolves are already missing point guard Ricky Rubio, who is out with a sprained ankle. Anthony Bennett, Young's backup at power forward, has been slowed by a sore knee.
