Terry Rozier on Dwyane Wade comparison: 'We just need to let it die'
Boston Celtics rookie Terry Rozier is having himself quite a time at Las Vegas Summer League. Last Thursday night, he took over down the stretch by knocking down some clutch jumpers that gave Boston a critical win against the Portland Trail Blazers.
Afterwards, he appeared on NBATV to cook up his now infamous favorite food: a spaghetti, ranch and sugar concoction.
In between it all, Bleacher Report's Brian Robb talked to Rozier about how he expects his rookie season to go, what he needs to work on and, of course, the comparisons to Dwyane Wade:
"He was my favorite player growing up when I was young. I’m in the league now, and I just want to get better. I want to be the best I can be and be a complete player. People keep bringing up that Dwyane Wade comparison, and I’ve had enough of that. We just need to let it die."
Being compared to one of the best shooting guards in basketball history is obviously a compliment, but it also creates unwanted expectations. Rozier's smart to kill them before they gain any steam.
