Stevens thinks Boston must add shooting and versatility
The Boston Celtics took off last season after they added Isaiah Thomas, Jonas Jerebko and Jae Crowder. All three can shoot, and the latter two are able to play more than one position on both ends of the floor.
These two qualities—shooting and versatility—are exactly what Brad Stevens thinks Boston needs to add this summer, and he isn't wrong. Here's what he had to say, courtesy of WEEI:
“And then from a basketball standpoint, I just think we need to continue to focus on the ability to be a little bit more versatile, which I thought helped us as we got later on in the season with a couple of changes that we made. And then I think shooting’s a big deal. Obviously everybody’s going to talk about rim protectors and those types of things. There’s only so many of those guys. So I think that those other two areas are really important for us.”
Stevens' system was a relative success last year, but he cooked with a few spoiled ingredients. If Boston can acquire more shot-makers instead of shot-takers, its offense will be that much more efficient.
