Rockets vs. Magic - Game Preview
In an attempt to recover from their recent struggles, the Houston Rockets (37-17) will face the Orlando Magic (20-33) at the Toyota Center for what is expected to be an easy win.
Although nothing compared to earlier in the season, the Houston Rockets are beginning to get back on their feet. They have gone 3-2 in their last 5 games which is obviously preferable to their previous 3-6 run.
After an exciting yet exhausting overtime win against the Chicago Bulls on Friday, the Houston Rockets should be ready for a home game against the Orlando Magic. This match-up has the potential to determine which direction the Rockets will be headed in for the remainder of the season.
The Orlando Magic have been having an overall tough season. They’ve gone 2-6 in their last 8 games and got shut down significantly in each one. That being said, unless the Magic get their game together, this should be an easy win for the Rockets.

One way the Magic could steal this game, however, is by taking advantage of their height difference. Seeing that the majority of Orlando’s points come from the big players, the Rockets might have some trouble on defense.
That being said, the Magic will probably have just as much trouble trying to defend Houston’s style of shooting. The Rockets throw up over 40 threes per game, and on good nights, they make a lot of them.
In order to secure a win, Space City will need to be vigilant of Evan Fournier. With an average of 16.6 points per game, he is his team’s leading scorer.
Last time the Rockets and the Magic went head-to-head was about a month ago. Houston managed to come out on top with a final score of 100-93. Although James Harden didn’t score much in that match-up, other players like Ryan Anderson and Patrick Beverley rose to the occasion.
If the Houston Rockets shoot decently and minimize scoring from Orlando’s big players, then things should go in their favor. This game has the potential to give Rockets fans hope for the rest of the season.
