Report: Chandler Parsons restricted to 10-12 minutes a game
Dallas Mavericks forward Chandler Parsons is still recovering from offseason knee injury, and it doesn't sound like the Mavs are taking any chances by pushing him too hard, too soon.
Parsons played only 12 minutes in his season debut on Sunday, which was apparently by design.
According to Tim MacMahon at ESPN.com, the Mavericks are going to keep Parsons on a similar minute restriction to start the season:
"Parsons told ESPN.com that he will be restricted to 10 to 12 minutes per game for an unspecified period of time before the Mavs’ medical staff opts to slowly increase his playing time. It could be until Christmas before Parsons is playing his customary 30-plus minutes per game.
“Obviously it’s about how my knee is going to respond,” Parsons said. “If there’s a setback during any of the games or any swelling or any pain, obviously we cut back. But if not, which there hasn’t been, we ramp it up as I keep feeling well.”
