Pau Gasol to miss Bulls' next two games with knee injury

If the playoffs started today, the Bulls would be on the outside looking in. And injuries continue to make it tough for the team to put together any type of run that would get them back in the chase.

Jimmy Butler has missed time with a knee injury, and Derrick Rose sat out Friday's 22-point loss to the Heat with a groin strain. Now comes word that Pau Gasol won't travel on Chicago's upcoming road trip due to some swelling in his right knee.

"There’s a significant amount of swelling in there," Bulls head coach Fred Hoiberg said, via the Chicago Tribune. "It’s been determined that he needs this week to recover from that. There are different treatment options we’re looking at that we’ll know more about here in the next 24 hours."

Butler is expected to return on Monday, but Rose's status is unclear. Gasol is averaging 17 points, 11.1 rebounds and 4.1 assists in 32.1 minutes per game this season.
