Nets GM Billy King: Lionel Hollins' job not in jeopardy
The hot seat doesn't sound like such an uncomfortable place. Heck, most cars nowadays actually are designed so that you can warm up the front seats when you get in on a cold winter's day.
At the moment, there's no need to ask Nets coach Lionel Hollins for his opinion on any of this. According to his general manager, Billy King, Hollins wouldn't know what the hot seat felt like at all.

Hollins coached the Nets to a 38-44 record a season ago. His team currently sits at 6-15, but has gone 5-6 after a 1-9 start. The Nets, though the record doesn't imply it, have actually been competitive in most of their games, even their road one against the Warriors, which you could argue Brooklyn should have won and instead gave away.
Hollins is far from the best coach in the league, and there's plenty for him to improve on, but it's not like King has given him the best roster with which to work. There aren't many coaches out there who could take this group and churn out a better record with it. So, Hollins appears to be here to stay, because what is Brooklyn supposed to do that's any better?
King also pointedly denied a report from a Russian publication which said that the Nets had already decided to move on from Hollins, and were just holding onto him until they could find a replacement.
“It’s funny because I think the report said it was management,” King said. “And I’m management so there was no truth to that. Lionel and I are working hard every day. We’re discussing possibilities, things we can do on the court, off the court. I’ve talked to ownership and right now, Lionel is our coach and we’re working to try to turn this around.”
