NBA updates Kevin Love's injury status
OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) Cleveland Cavaliers forward Kevin Love left Game 2 of the NBA Finals in the third quarter.
Love was hit on the back of the head by an elbow from Warriors forward Harrison Barnes in the second quarter. He lay on the court for several minutes and was looked at on the bench during the ensuing timeout. But he remained in the game and was able to start the third quarter.
He pulled himself out of the game later in the period and went back to the locker room. The following statement was released on Love's condition.
Cavaliers forward Kevin Love experienced dizziness after returning to play at the start of the second half. He was taken to the locker room for further examination. The result of that exam is that he has now been placed in the NBA Concussion Protocol and will not return to play. Kevin did not exhibit any signs or symptoms during the first half, or at halftime, that would have caused him to be placed in the concussion protocol prior to now.
Love had five points on 2-for-7 shooting in 20 minutes.
