Magic Johnson says the Cavaliers know the Warriors are better
Magic Johnson played in nine NBA Finals, winning five of them, so he knows well the ebbs and flows of a seven-game series with a world championship on the line.
After watching the Golden State Warriors dispatch the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday night to take a 2-0 series lead – making a 110-77 win look downright easy – Johnson indicated on Twitter that Cleveland may have already lost the series mentally.
Golden State’s Game 2 blowout win followed a 104-89 Game 1 victory, which followed two regular-season wins over the Cavs, which followed three straight wins against Cleveland to close out last season’s NBA Finals.
Bottom line: This might not be a good matchup for LeBron James’ Cavs.
The Cavaliers will get their next chance to prove Johnson wrong Wednesday night, when the series moves back to Cleveland for Game 3.
