Larry Bird tells Willie Cauley-Stein he's worth $100 million
The Indiana Pacers are a team in limbo. That's why franchise executive Larry Bird had a busy day at last week's NBA draft combine, where he interviewed many a young stud.
One of them, despite probably being out of the Pacers' reach, says Bird gave him some very complimentary feedback. Kentucky's Willie Cauley-Stein will probably be a top-ten selection, leaving him outside of the Pacers' radar unless they get very lucky in the lottery tomorrow night. That didn't stop Bird from saying this, though:
Nothing's off the table for the Pacers after a strange season, so it shouldn't come as a shock if they try moving up in the draft to grab Cauley-Stein or another player of Bird's fancy. The first domino of their offseason plan will fall tomorrow night, when their draft position is defined.
WCS on his meeting w/ #Pacers: "Larry (Bird) told me, ‘I think you’re a $100 million dollar player.’ I hear that and I’m like, ‘Really?!’"
