The Boston Celtics won their first exhibition of the 2015-16 season on Tuesday, downing Olimpia Milano 124-91. It was an impressive showing, and provided several roster-related takeaways.
Rookie guard R.J. Hunter played 16 minutes, scored three points and recorded three assists. But his impact exceeded those numbers, and it'll be interesting to see if he can crack Brad Stevens' regular-season rotation. Here's MassLive's Jay King with more:
Hunter's three-point stroke makes him one of the more exciting rookies in basketball right now. He enters the league at a time when the premium for that very skill has never been higher, and the Celtics would be wise to take full advantage.

With Turner (knee) out, R.J. Hunter saw action in both halves – a sign he may have already passed James Young in the pecking order. To anyone who watched summer league, that wouldn't be a huge surprise. Hunter shows more basketball intuition while still spacing the court. He hit one three Tuesday, created a few plays off the bounce, and used his long arms to rack up two steals and a nice block. Young didn't see the court until garbage time, but managed to botch a defensive assignment and pick up an avoidable offensive foul.
