How will Portland use Moe Harkless in 2016?

A few years ago, Moe Harkless was an intriguing prospect on the Orlando Magic. He was athletic, could slice to the basket, knew how to cut and ostensibly had a bright future.

Today, after Orlando dumped Harkless on Portland for basically nothing over the summer, the 22-year-old will have to scratch and claw his way into a new team's rotation.

Here's what the Trail Blazers should expect from their new wing, per The Oregonian's Mike Richman:

Harkless averaged 3.5 points per game last year, shooting just under 40 percent from the floor. It was a miserable campaign, and Portland hopes it can turn around the young man's once-promising career by giving him the time and space that's sometimes needed to grow.

He's a career 30 percent three point shooter and worse shooting from the mid-range. But he's improved his finishing around the rim in each season and can use his athleticism to become a slasher from the wing. Harkless fell out of favor with the Magic coaching staff, playing in just 27 of Orlando's first 46 games, including a stretch of 10 games when he was inactive despite being healthy. Perhaps a change of scenery and a new offensive scheme will help Harkless find his footing in the league. At just 22-years-old he has plenty of room to grow in the Blazers system.
