Here's the process San Antonio needs to follow

The San Antonio Spurs know what they're doing. They're good every year and have a system that's somewhat error free. But this season hasn't blasted off to a particularly rousing start.

And that's okay. They have new pieces, and those new pieces will eventually fit together to make something special. Probably. Here's SB Nation's Pounding the Rock with more:

The Spurs are 6-2 and have the second best record in the Western Conference, but their offense has looked stagnant and guys who make shots (Danny Green) are cold. But they'll be fine. They're the Spurs.

What we've seen from the first nine games isn't anything unexpected. The Spurs have made uncharacteristic errors. The starting lineup seems stilted, operating on set plays instead of the dizzying motion that made the Spurs back into a title contender. As a unit, the Spurs look better and more polished when the bench unit replaces the starters. There is no other NBA team that improves when its best players hit the bench.
