Hawks are 15-8 when Tiago Splitter plays; 6-7 without him active

Atlanta's Tiago Splitter was traded by the Spurs to the Hawks over the offseason. He's proven his value as much off the floor as he has while on the floor.

According to Peach Tree Hoops, Atlanta has 15 wins and 8 losses with Splitter at full health and on the active roster. Without Splitter, however, the Hawks are just 6-7. (Note: Rowland's tweet says 6-6, but Atlanta has since lost to New York.) Splitter has missed four games in a row -- his most recent injury was a right calf strain.

Splitter has played in just 23 of Atlanta's 36 games this season. Coach Mike Budenholzer says that Splitter is "getting close" to a return.

Fans of the Hawks are likely eager to see their backup center return to the lineup. Atlanta has a .652 winning percentage with Splitter and just a .461 winning percentage without him.

Splitter averages just 5.6 points, 3.3 rebounds and 0.4 blocks for Atlanta this season. That's a far drop from his numbers just a few seasons ago, when he averages 10.3 points, 6.4 rebounds and 0.8 blocks per game for the Spurs in 2012-13.

He will likely take minutes recently given to Atlanta's Walter "Edy" Tavares.
