Danilo Gallinari said he wants Melvin Hunt to be the next head coach of the Nuggets. Adding to that support is former Nugget and Colorado legend Chauncey Billups, who thinks Hunt is the right man for the job.
In an interview with KDVR in Denver, Billups said Hunt did a "great job" last year in turning the Nuggets around after the failed Brian Shaw experiment. Billups also added that he thinks Hunt can be a great head coach in the league.
While the Nuggets continue to interview other candidates, such as Mike Woodson and Mike D'Antoni, Hunt appears to have the most local support among all candidates. Whether that's enough to actually land him the job despite the fact that the Nuggets want to make a splash with their next hiring remains to be seen.
