Detroit comes home to face the Orlando Magic
After going 3 and 1 on their previous road trip, the Pistons come home to face the visiting Orlando Magic.
The Detroit Pistons last played at home when they fiercely defeated the Los Angeles Clippers, 108-97. Since then, Detroit has been on the road in Oklahoma City, Charlotte, Boston, and Atlanta battling some of the top teams in the league.

Entering the trip, the outlook didn’t appear bright for Detroit. The Pistons were underdogs in all four matchups, were previously 1-8 on the road, and were capable of falling near last in the East to an 8-12 record.
After the trip, the Pistons are now 11-10: winning three of the four games with and a 4-9 record on the road.
Not bad. Especially with a Reggie Jackson return on the horizon.
Detroit’s most exciting takeaway from their trip is their new founded identity: give the ball to Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Tobias Harris.
At the start of the trip, Detroit faltered in Oklahoma City when they let an early fourth quarter two-point deficit grow to an eighteen point loss. Though, following that game, the team turned around and dominated in the hands of Caldwell-Pope and Harris.
In Charlotte and Atlanta, the Pistons blew away the competition with Caldwell-Pope and Harris leading in scoring: 23/21 against Atlanta and 18/24 against Charlotte.

In Boston, things where tighter, though EVERY starter scored near 20 for a 121-114 win. Again, Caldwell Pope and Harris leading the Pistons with 25 and 21 points.
Detroit’s new identity doesn’t mean the Pistons will avoid moving the ball to other contributors like Marcus Morris, Andre Drummond, Reggie Jackson, and others. Though, right now, ball movement to Caldwell-Pope and Harris is clicking and Detroit is hot: no longer solely relying on an Andre Drummond and Reggie Jackson pick and roll to produce offense.
For the Orlando Magic, they could not be traveling to the Palace of Auburn Hills at a worse time. Again, the Pistons are HOT, are clicking offensively, and a possible Reggie Jackson may blow the roof off the arena.
It should be a fun night for Detroit.
