Chicago Bulls at San Antonio Spurs: Game and Stream Info

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 3:50 p.m. ET

Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas, Bulls fans. Jimmy Butler and the Chicago Bulls are in San Antonio to take on Kawhi Leonard and the Spurs. Here’s how you can watch/listen to the game.

After a 30-point victory against the Detroit Pistons on Monday, Chicago has dropped their last two games.

On Wednesday night, they blew a lead against the Wizards, losing the fourth quarter, 30-20. They headed to Charlotte for Friday’s matchup against the Hornets, and finished with similar results. Both Taj Gibson and Robin Lopez were ejected and the Bulls lost by 10.

Luckily, the Bulls tends to get up for big games, and it doesn’t get much bigger than a Christmas Day contest against the title-contender San Antonio Spurs. Last time these two teams met, on December 8, the Bulls pulled out a close win, barely edging San Antonio by four points.

Two-time Defensive Player of the Year Kawhi Leonard guarded Jimmy Butler for much of the night, forcing him into some tough shots and poor offensive performance, only scoring 13 points. Despite Jimmy’s struggles, other Bulls thrived with much of Leonard’s focus on Butler.

Rajon Rondo was within one rebound of a triple-double, and all of the starters scored in double-digits. Isolating Kawhi defensively — an idea theorized by a few great NBA writers like Mike Prada and Matt Moore — might be a strategy employed by Fred Hoiberg again, but don’t be surprised if the Spurs counteract with another scheme of their own.

The Spurs’ woes on offense can be summarized by LaMarcus Aldridge’s 10 points or Manu Ginobili’s nine missed field goal attempts. Leonard scored 24 points, but beyond that and 16 for Patty Mills off the bench, San Antonio shot 40.2 percent from the floor and 32.1 percent from 3-point land. Chicago forced turnovers with 11 steals and protected the rim with eight blocks.

Both teams are coming off a day of rest, thus being at nearly full power coming into today’s game. Here’s to safe travels, joyous holidays and a Bulls’ win.
