Dodgers give more duties to president Mannion

Published Dec. 12, 2009 8:34 p.m. ET

Dodgers president Dennis Mannion is adding oversight of the club's baseball operations to his duties.

Dodgers owner Frank McCourt announced the change Monday.

McCourt, who is embroiled in a contentious divorce from his wife, Jamie, put general manager Ned Colletti under the oversight of Mannion, who has overseen Los Angeles' day-to-day business operations since January 2008.

Mannion joined the Dodgers in 2007 following executive stints in each of the four major pro sports.

Colletti says he welcomes the change, believing the club's business and baseball sides will work better if they're more coordinated.
