On Monday night, safety Ian Simon and long snapper Jake Hurrell took to the radio waves with an interview hosted by the voice of the Missouri Tigers in Mike Kelly.

Simon was particularly effusive in his praise of Hurrell.

"Jake Hurrell is probably one of the hardest working guys on this football team," says Simon. "It's something I want to emulate. I want to work as hard as Jake Hurrell does."

While appreciating the sentiment, Hurrell regaled the audience with a funny take on Simon's relationship with Denver Broncos first-round pick (and former college teammate) Shane Ray.

"[Simon] told some of the guys that since [Ray] has left, they have a 'bromance' going. They FaceTime every week and never miss that FaceTime date. The 'bromance' still lives."

While not a highly recruited player, Hurrell has a special connection to the university. He grew up attending games as a native of the nearby hamlet, St. Peters. The experience is something not lost on him.

"It's been quite the dream come true," said Hurrell. "My best friends are on the team, [and] to be able to play at Faurot [Field] has been an incredible experience and a blessing."
