Report: Alabama WR Robert Foster has sprained MCL

Published Aug. 20, 2015 1:54 p.m. ET

The injury bug has claimed another victim of Alabama's football team, as AL.com is reporting sophomore receiver Robert Foster suffered a sprained MCL during the team's scrimmage Saturday. However, the injury has not yet kept Foster from participating in practice this week for the Tide.

Foster only has six catches for 44 yards in his college career and has yet to record a touchdown but came to Alabama as a five-star prospect and is expected to have a breakout season considering the lack of experience the Tide have at receiver this season.

So far in camp, his offensive coordinator has seen the potential in Foster.
"Robert Foster has flashed," Tide offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin said earlier this month. "Very fast. [Has] showed us a really good skill set. Again, just need to continue to get him to be more consistent."
