FARGO, N.D. (AP) Darrius Shepherd returned a punt 84 yards for a touchdown to kick-start a dominating first half as North Dakota State rolled to a 41-17 win over Indiana State on Saturday.

Shepherd's return came on Indiana State's game-opening possession and quarterback Easton Stick followed with touchdowns runs of 16 and 42 yards as the Bison (9-1, 6-1 Missouri Valley) led 21-0 after one quarter.

After xxx Pedersen's 29-yard field goal made it 24-0, North Dakota State used two turnovers to push the lead to 34-7 at the half.

Greg Menard's fumble record at the Sycamores' 13 led to King Frazier's 2-yard touchdown run. Jalen Allison had a pick 31 seconds before halftime and Pedersen nailed a 45-yard field goal on the final play.
