OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) Oklahoma Christian men's basketball coach Dan Hays will resign at the end of his 33rd season at the school.

The 69-year-old Hays is in his 38th season overall as a college head coach. He has compiled a 721-460 record entering Saturday's game at Dallas Baptist (Texas). He spent five seasons at Northwestern Oklahoma State.

He says he's not retiring from athletics, just stepping down as coach of the Eagles, who are 4-11 this season.

The school says Hays has recorded more wins at an Oklahoma university than any basketball coach. In April 2011, Oklahoma Christian honored Hays by naming the court inside the Eagles' Nest as ''Dan Hays Court.'' He is a member of the NAIA Hall of Fame, the Oklahoma Christian Athletic Hall of Fame and the Eastern New Mexico Hall of Honor.
