NCAA President Mark Emmert said Thursday that he'd be on board with a plan that would allow early NBA Draft entrants to spend one season in the NBA's Development League and return to school if things did not work out.
Speaking with a group of Associated Press Sports Editors in New York, Emmert said he has even spoken to NBA Commissioner Adam Silver about the idea.

Emmert's suggestion would run contrary to the current setup, where players that turn professional are not allowed an opportunity to return to college. The suggestion also would give players a second chance to continue getting a college education and/or a chance to further hone their skills in hopes of becoming an NBA-caliber player.
