Coach K says 2016 Olympic Games 'definitely' his last as USA coach

During an interview with Andy Katz of ESPN this weekend, Duke's Mike Kyzyzewski confirmed the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro will be his last as the coach of USA Basketball.

"It is. It definitely is,'' Krzyzewski told ESPN. "I think it's time to move ahead. During the next season there will be a number of decisions made about the future of USA Basketball with Rio [the roster] and coaching.

Jerry Colangelo, the chairman of USA Basketball’s Board of Directors, mentioned Kyzyzewski would be done coaching Team USA in an interview with Marc Spears of Yahoo Sports earlier this summer. 

Since taking over the men's national team in 2006, Coach K has led the U.S. to Olympic gold medals in 2008 and 2012, as well as first-place finishes in the 2010 FIBA World Championship and 2014 FIBA World Cup.

Coach K captured fifth national title at Duke this past season and in 2016, he welcomes in a recruiting class that can help cut down the nets to a sixth national title. Small forward Jayson Tatum, combo guard Frank Jackson and power forward Javin DeLaurier are all set to join Duke, which will likely return a good portion of this year's rotation.
