Croatian player scores five consecutive hat-tricks to break world record

Croatian striker Stjepan Lucijanic has become a Guinness World Record holder for most consecutive hat-tricks in competitive matches, netting his fifth in a row in a casual 10-0 win over Dakovo League side NK Zrinski Drenje.

Lucijanic breaks an 18-year-old record held by Japanese international forward Masashija Nakayamu, who scored four hat-tricks in four games while playing for Jubilo Iwata.

The Croatian striker isn't just the Guinness Record holder, he's also in possession of many of Dracice's club records. He scored six goals in one game at the start of the season, and scored after just 12 seconds to hold the record for fastest ever in their history.

Lucijanic's goals have Dracice atop the Dakovo League, with a perfect 33 points out of 11 matches. Getting 20 goals from one man might have a little bit to do with that flawless record.

They may play in front of triple-digit crowds in the seventh level of professional soccer in Croatia, but five hat-tricks in a row at any professional level is a feat to celebrate. Lucijanic is in the history books, and for good reason.
